Shoring up the foundations of image analysis - MISS 2014 (17)

di Lorenzo Di Silvestro, Mauro Sodano e Agata Ventura

Sir Mike Brady, University of Oxford, lecture 2

Sir Mike Brady (University of Oxford, UK), was one of the speakers of Medical Imaging Summer School (Sicily, July 28-August 1, 2014), here you can find his lecture 2: "Shoring up the foundations of image analysis".

Abstract. The Achilles' heel of many image analysis systems is the poor quality of information yielded by early processing. Since this is typically the first step of analysis, limitations at this early stage permeate all subsequent processing.

We describe our recent work in: feature analysis; texture measurement; segmentation; and shape matching.
